This past weekend, we tabled at our very first official market, Hester Street Fair.
We were a little nervous and didn’t know what to expect, but we ended up being *blown away* by the warm reception for our illustrated sayings from around the world — and are still glowing from it, even today.
It was a joy to see how people resonated with expressions across different cultures. We held plenty of delightful conversations that were ignited by the designs, including hilarious opinions on cilantro, cooking experimentations with ginger, and favorite ways to interpret tarot + card decks.
Folks also suggested additional languages for the future, which fuels our desire to grow our multicultural library of illustrated sayings.
We wrapped up the afternoon feeling physically tired yes, but emotionally, so energized and inspired! All afternoon, despite the random bouts of rain, the energy of the market remained so fiercely positive and supportive, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better first market.
As we’ve mentioned before, 15% of proceeds from our day’s sales will be going to Lambda Literary, an amazing NYC-based nonprofit that champions LGBTQ books and authors. We appreciate you making that support possible.
Thank you again to everyone who stopped by to explore our designs — you’re amazing! Thank you to Hester Street Fair for making Pride weekend such a special one, and giving creatives such a great outlet to showcase their passion. We’re very grateful for all of your love + support!
